FAQs
Q:
What do you charge to repair the Airport Base Station?
How can I pay? And how long will it take you to do the
repairs?
1.A:
We charge $45 to repair your Base Station. You can
pay us by sending your money order, personal check,
or cashier's check along with the base station. Make
checks payable to Base Station Repair. You can also
pay by Paypal. The mailing address is 246 Winter Brook
DR. Walkersville, MD 21793. We will probably have
your station repaired within 24 hours. In the short
time we have been in business, we have helped people
fix hundreds of broken AirPorts. Thanks for the business.
2.Q: I
tried to fix my ABS myself, and I think I made it worse.
Can I still send it to you?
2.A: It
is not recommended that you do the repair unless you
are good with a soldering iron. We can only return
$30 of your money if you tried to fix it and we cannot
repair the station afterwards.
3.Q: Will
opening my ABS void the warranty?
3.A: The
repair that we perform on your ABS will most likely
void your warranty, which could be out of date anyway.
However, the important part is that we can repair
your ABS and you can use it once again.
4.Q: What
if you can't fix my Graphite ABS power supply, do
I get my money back?
4.A: Yes,
we do not charge you a service fee. You only have
to pay for shipping (around $10). However, we will
buy the station back from you if we cannot fix it.
So, please include the power cord. However, this is
only for the capacitor repair if your station requires
additional parts at added cost it is your choice to
do the repair or not. If you choice not to repair
the ABS then we will send the station back to you
or may offer to buy it. Some stations may require
additional parts at added cost. 8 out of 10 times
the problem is the capacitors and after the repair
the station returns to normal. However a few stations
may need motherboards or WaveLAN cards.
5.Q:
Are you liable for any damages?
5.A:
No. You must sign a waiver that relinquishes us from
any damage that our repairs could cause. We don't
anticipate any problems, but this is our way of covering
ourselves in a litigious society. Also, we are not
responsible for base stations lost in the mail, so
buy insurance when you send it to us and we will do
the same when we send it back to you. Maximum liability
is fifty dollars per Apple AirPort if USPS is the
carrier service provider. Maximum liability is one
hundred dollars per Apple AirPort if UPS is the carrier
service provider. We prefer UPS when a business address
is given and when shipments have to go over 1000 miles
within the US. When UPS is used with a business address
the time it takes to arrive to you is cut considerably.
UPS usually only takes a day or so within regions
one and two from our address.
6.Q: Do
you offer a warranty?
6.A: Yes.
We offer a ONE YEAR warranty on the capacitors. If
they fail within a year of the repair, you send the
station back to us and we put in new capacitors for
free. You only pay shipping.
7.Q: Do
you offer your repair Service to international customers?
7.A: Yes.
We repair stations for international customers. We
just ask that you send an additional $15 with your
payment to help cover the added shipping costs.
8.Q: I
work for a school district or a college (or other
organization) and our AirPorts need repaired. Will
you fix our AirPort(s) and accept a purchase order
to do the repair?
8.A: Yes.
We accept purchase orders from organizations. We do
not accept purchase orders from individuals.
9.Q: Do
you repair Snow Stations?
9.A: Yes
we will attempt to repair your Snow station. Please
refer to our Snow page prior to sending it in and
email us with the symptoms. We may be able to give
you technical advice through email. We pay up to $45
for broken Snow stations that have complete parts
